I can’t believe I did it! The book I have been working on for TWO years is finally published in an ebook format.  About two years ago, when I turned 40, I made I list of 10 things I know now about motherhood that I wish I knew before I became a mom. That list (slightly edited) became the basis for this book.

No matter how excited and ready we may be to add a new little bundle of joy to our lives, motherhood can tend to knock us off kilter in so many areas:

  • identity
  • marriage
  • purpose
  • body image
  • sex life
  • time management
  • emotions
  • health
  • career

Dealing with only those adjustments would be enough, but when you add the unrealistic expectations we often place on ourselves (and let’s be honest – the expectations others sometimes put on us), motherhood can become a burden rather than a joy. We can easily begin to lose our way and sense of purpose as we try to mold ourselves into the image of “the perfect mother.”

I truly believe that each of us moms will be at our best as parents when we are authentically ourselves, operating in the grace of God in freedom to pursue His call and purpose on our lives! Motherhood is not supposed to take us off the track of God’s purposes for our lives; it’s meant as a gift to bless and enlarge us. But too many times I see women become frustrated and overwhelmed during this season and decide to take a time-out from life and to sit on the bench until this season passes. The truth is, motherhood is not your signal to sit on the bench — it’s a signal that it’s time to adjust your game plan! I hope my book will help you do just that.

Check out my book Clueless: 10 things I wish I knew about motherhood before becoming a mom on my resources page. I would love to hear your thoughts and feedback. (And I would be super thankful if you would leave an kind little review of it on Amazon.com). Happy reading!

Love,
Kerri
