The older I get, the less I like to shop for clothes. This is sad, but true. When I had the body to wear cute clothes, I couldn’t afford them. Now that I can afford them, I no longer have the body for them. Such is life. However, the fact remains that I cannot live without them (perish the thought!) so I do still have to buy clothes! I read this blog the other day about how to shop like a mom. I guess another way to say it would be, “How to shop like a person who has neither the time nor the inclination to shop.” I read it, and realized this is exactly how I started shopping once I had kids!
Before the kiddos, I used to pick up a little something here, and a little something there. I would maybe hit the shops with my friends and go out for coffee, swing by a store and check things out a couple of times a week. Like, I actually used to time shopping for my clothes around SALES!! (As opposed to my current method of scrambling in a panic-stricken frenzy to the town center between the end of work and a Sisterhood night for an outfit.)
Check out the post “Tips for Successful Mom-Drobe Shopping” over at aintnomomjeans.com and let me know that you think. How do you work shopping for clothes into your life? Do you like or dislike shopping? If you could send a message to fashion designers, what would it be?

I just cracked up at The Fact you posted the mom jeans video — this just makes me LOVE you more.
Interesting blog! I am a shopaholic beyond any doubt. My dilemma has always been I did not have the money, but I love trendy, pretty clothes and just smelling the mall makes me happy. SO…I learned when the sales were and how to make things affordable and how to find things that can be used multi ways to get the most of my wear. Beginning last year, people would make comments to me when I said “I’m going to the mall” because anyone who knows me – knows I don’t have money.HAH! But, I began shopping for other people. Being known for confidentiality and trust, they gave me their information, their budget amounts and some “wish lists” and I find them their items and get them. I have been shocked at the response. I was blessed with an eye for fashion and fit for all sizes and issues – including accessories and shoes – so I have to find satisfaction in finding them for other people.
If anyone is in need of this service, I would love to help!
